For Autumn Winter 26/27, Rami Al Ali presents The Portrait of a Lady — a modern reflection on timeless femininity.
Inspired by classical portraiture and the women immortalized within it — composed, intelligent, and effortlessly graceful — the collection transforms each look into a contemporary portrait, revealing layered facets of beauty, character, and emotion.
Drawing on the literary depth of Henry James and the visual poetry of John Singer Sargent, JeanAuguste-Dominique Ingres, and James McNeill Whistler, the collection reinterprets their language of poise, restraint, and psychological nuance for the modern woman.
A rich palette of deep teal, mustard, deep green, muted raspberry, ivory, bronze, and dark brown defines the season. Sculpted Tubino gowns, structured tea-length silhouettes, fluid A-line shapes, and minimal column kaftans establish a refined balance between structure and ease. Off-shoulder, strapless, and one-shoulder necklines bring quiet confidence, while corsetry, geometric panelling, and controlled draping add architectural clarity.
Key looks include a burnt orange off-shoulder gown with an asymmetrically draped satin overlay and sheer beaded lace inset; a deep teal off-shoulder Tubino with long sleeves and sculptural draping; and a mustard strapless tea-length dress defined by geometric construction. A deep green crystallized offshoulder gown with tulle godet inserts and a muted raspberry strapless Tubino with a sheer embellished detail and cascading overskirt further explore precision and fluidity.
An ivory corseted gown with a fully beaded mermaid skirt anchors the evening offer, alongside deep red strapless designs with draped skirts and front slits, bronze halter-neck silhouettes with fluid movement, and deep teal sheer long-sleeve mermaid gowns in intricate lace. Sculptural peplums, cape overlays, puff sleeves, and asymmetric overskirts complete the collection with measured drama.
The imagery was captured within the refined interiors of Maison Revka, whose classical architectural detailing and romantic ambiance echo the collection’s dialogue between heritage and modern femininity.
The Portrait of a Lady is an ode to femininity that transcends time — honouring the woman who carries her story with elegance, awareness, and unwavering self-possession.
