The Cruise 2027 Collection explores the House’s longstanding relationship with Hollywood. A jacket from Haute Couture Spring Summer 1949, worn by Marlene Dietrich in Alfred Hitchcock’s film Stage Fright, was one of the starting points. The Californian poppy was another reference; florals are a recurring refrain.
The collection is a dream of LA’s creative personae. Bouclé wool jackets with frayed cuffs, embroidered lace evening dresses, patchwork scarves and shearling coats.
The LA man is not overlooked. Sequinned suiting glimmers, pyjama shirts are paired with leather trousers. A set of archetypal American shirts appears, made in collaboration with the artist Ed Ruscha and incorporating elements from existing artworks.
New bag silhouettes include a streamlined update of the Saddle, a bucket shape with a Dior Médaillon and a shoulder bag with a crescent base. Shoes are animated by flowers and sequins.
