Designed by Virgil Abloh, the “A piece of the rainbow” collection inevitably calls to mind Louis Vuitton Menswear Artistic Director’s very first fashion show: a brightly coloured rainbow depicting a generation on the move. “A piece of the rainbow” is a dynamic and optimistic capsule collection, easy to wear and combine, where hooded sweatshirts and Monogram Flower-padded blousons come with sporty trousers, which can be worn mismatched or as a total colour block look.
A black padded lambskin blouson is available in a featherlight version, in shiny or matte technical material, Monogramtopstitched, in green, orange or bright blue. On full-sleeve or sleeveless down jackets, vibrant colours stand out and clash: green, red, orange, black, yellow, violet…
Cashmere sweaters, hooded or not, beat to the same colourful vibrations, as do the cashmere hats available in six different shades and adorned on the front with the tone-on-tone silver enamel LV logo. On this occasion, the iconic 1.1 Millionaires glasses, with their acetate frame, are reinvented in four new colours.
Unveiled for the first time during the Spring-Summer 2019 show, the LV Trainer also inspires fresh colourways and now comes in orange, violet, blue, yellow, green, along with the must-have white model. The brightness of this rainbow in the dead of winter combines with Louis Vuitton’s long-standing expertise. The calfskin sneakers are all set on a rubber sole injected with gel and decorated with Monogram flowers. Each pair requires at least seven hours of manufacturing in the Fiesso d’Artico workshops, the jewel of Louis Vuitton shoe “savoir-faire”.
