In a ground-breaking collaboration, Kim Jones and Global Environmental Organization Parley for the oceans have teamed up to devise a Capsule Collection created from marine plastic pollution.
Initiated in 2019, a joint research project conducted by the two partners, driven by a desire for eco-innovation, has generated original yarns and textiles engineered with Parley ocean plastic®, created from upcycled marine plastic debris and fishing gear recovered from coastlines and remote islands around the world*, and engineered into high performance materials by parley and its global network.
The artisans of the Dior Ateliers have risen to the challenge of transforming this upcycled polyester, an alternative to virgin polyester, to produce top-quality weaves such as jacquard, a mesh knit and a tech canvas.
