Building on the ties that unite Dior and Italy, the House is opening a House of Dior on Via Monte Napoleone. Both intimate and open to the city, this new venue combines French art de vivre with Milanese spirit.
In the window displays, cheerful animated scenes – created entirely from Dior Atelier fabric offcuts – form a landscape inspired by the gardens of Milan. Nature, so dear to Christian Dior, breathes harmony into the three levels conceived by architect Peter Marino and landscape designer Peter Wirtz. Amid light-coloured materials and clean lines, the emblematic codes of 30 Montaigne are combined with the elegance of Italy’s capital of fashion and design.
On the first floor, Jonathan Anderson’s Women’s Collections bring together signature silhouettes, shoes and bags alongside Victoire de Castellane’s fine jewellery. Menswear, from bespoke tailoring to formal, is displayed along with perfume from La Collection Privée and homeware. A selection of exclusive creations adds a finishing touch. Further up, private lounges and a beauty room are revealed in a more hushed atmosphere.
True to the founding-couturier’s eye as a gallerist, this setting brings art to life. Artworks and designer furniture punctuate the spaces – from Michelangelo Pistoletto’s portrait of Monsieur Dior to Claude Lalanne’s Ginkgo bench and Vittorio Introini’s shelving – resonating with Milan’s creative energy.
The Monsieur Dior restaurant by Enrico Bartolini, featuring a painting by Francesco Clemente, extends this experience. Italy’s most Michelin-starred chef offers a culinary interpretation of the House’s symbols, creating a dialogue between gastronomy and couture.
